A Gone

There seems to be some building momentum for chasing out Bush Consigliere and nominal US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. He's caught up in the purge of not-rightwing-rabid-enough US Attorneys and has been further slimed in the FBI's Patriot Act abuse scandal.

Get gone! Some other winger needs a couple of years experience so as to build a resume for damaging this country in another decade or so.

  • would you refer to Gonzalez as "Consigliere" if he were white?

    I doubt it.

  • gir,

Yes. You dope ... "Consigliere" is an Italian term. Watch The Sopranos if you really want to understand the reference.

    ... and I've got a funny feeling you're really someone's puppet.

  • Mac:

Unlike you, I'm not a limo liberal who pays for HBO. I nevertheless have seen "the Godfather" and know "Consigliere" is an Italian term.

It's used as an ethnic term, and is not applied to uptight white lawyers like, say, Ken Starr.

There's probably no lawyer alive about whom there's been more negative stuff written. I challenge you to find an instance of him being referred to as "Consigliere"

  • Google it.

Also google "consigliere bill clinton" and see how often it was used to refer to Bruce Lindsey or Janet Reno.

  • I did google it, and saw it only for lindsey, not starr. That goes to prove that Lindsey must have some ethnic blood, or they wouldn't be calling him the C word. Either that, or he's not uptight like Ken Starr. I never saw it for Starr, despite thorough googling.
