Bush, who said he quit drinking the morning after his 40th birthday, has started boozing amid the Katrina catastrophe.
Family sources have told how the 59-year-old president was caught by First Lady Laura downing a shot of booze at their family ranch in Crawford, Texas, when he learned of the hurricane disaster.
His worried wife yelled at him: "Stop, George."

Macswain: Doubtful that the story is true, at least that Laura would tell him to stop. Hell, he has drinking all along. Remember when he fell and hit his head. They gave us some shit about the Vega nerve. Hell, I think Condi and Laura are drinking with him. I bet you a dollar to a doughnut, that all his personal staff know that he is on the sauce. Rolly

The story really strains believability--It asks us to believe that W cared enough about (or paid enough attenting to) New Orleans to drink over it.
