How Fucking Embarassing
The Washington Post finally nuts up and does an expose on the long-rumored, secret prisons the CIA is running outside of the United States.
Along with the treatment of the prisoners in Afghanistan, Iraq and Gitmo, this is just another argument for those who look for rationales to violate human rights and engage in terrorist activity. One is also left to wonder how many Mahar Arars or Brandon Mayfields have been caught up in this sick & twisted scheme.
Virtually nothing is known about who is kept in the facilities, what interrogation methods are employed with them, or how decisions are made about whether they should be detained or for how long.

Jimmy Carter is on tour promoting a new book on morality in government. During his Larry King interview, Carter was abhorred at the US's approval of torture. Isn't it a coincidence that the secret prisons are in countries that turn a blind eye to civil rights--and torture?
Asked "doesn't 9/11 change the rules?" Carter reminded us of the atrocious acts of our enemies during WWII.
Wathching Carter yesterday (and Clinton's speech honoring Rosa Parks) hit a strong theme of respect for human and civil rights.
Contrast that to the despicable morality of chimp-handlers Libby, Rove and Cheney, Macswain.
Perhaps Americans are getting the message, as CBS has the chimp's approval rating at 35%.
