Feingold Bill to Cut Funding Iraq War Goes Down

The bill went down 29-67.

First off, a big thanks to the Democrats - and note that it is Democrats alone - that are willing to stand up to the "stabbed in the back" bullshit being pimped by Bush and the rightwing nutters.

Apparently, however, a number of Dems believe the President will truly hold the troops hostage and leave them in Iraq even without funding. I guess there is evidence of that in that Bush has sent them in without the proper equipment in the first place. Still, the Congress needs to keep pressing Bush on ending this continuing tragedy.

There are no fairy tale endings to this debacle.
