I understand that hospitals have required paperwork to complete in cases of gunshots.
I'll be counting on the Macswain blog to be the first to post hospital's written account for assailant Cheney.

Prosecutors like to talk about "consciousness of guilt."
Consider the following evidence that Cheney knew he was tanked:
1. The secret service interfered with local authorities fresh investigation in the critical hrs following the shooting;
2. Cheney's failure to go to the hospital, where his sobriety or lack thereof would be on display. (What a lame excuse that there wasn't room in the van..gimme a f'ing break. Like a group of fatcats only has one vehicle available. Or that nobody in that group of tax cut beneficiaries could afford to spring for a cab to be with their friend in his hour of need)
3. Cheney's decision to go to dinner and have a cocktail. In the event that plan #1 fails (i.e., the cops do show and see that you're blotto), you can plausibly contend that you didn't start into the sauce until after shooting your friend.

Oh wait, it's not an onion article, but it sure is a funny parody. My favorite part is:

I was struck by the fact that the day that Dick shot Harry in the face was the worse day of Dick's life. After all, Dick was the VP the day 9/11 occurred, remember planes into buildings, people jumping from how many stories up rather than dying in the fire, NORAD on vacation, Dick in the bunker, then there's Katirina, the MOTHERFUCKING war none of these things compare to peppering a lawyer with bird shoot?
Good thing Dick took those deferments in Viet Nam, if he had served, he'd have a fucking serious case of PTSD now and god knows, he could not be the great leader of amerika he became. Man, I feel so lucky.....
I only hope that Lynn's novel about the vice president who dies while having an encounter with a whore comes true, soon very very soon. I just hope it is not too traumatic for the whore, they are people too, unlike the vp.
