When It Stops Being Funny

The initial spin regarding Harry Whitington's injuries were that they were superficial.

I've now heard that 10 or more of the birdshot will not be removed from his body.

Now there's this --- the BBC is reporting that Whittington has suffered a minor heart attack and is being moved back into intensive care. The report adds:

[A hospital spokesperson] said there had been an irregularity in the heartbeat of the 78-year-old, caused by a pellet lodged in his heart.

Let's hope for Mr. Whittington's speedy recovery.

  • One thing is for certain--he was shot closer than 30 yards. Why would they lie about the distance? Closer in makes Cheney look less competent? How do you shoot one, if they are close to you, right in front where you should not only see them, but hear them also? You do it if you are brewed. Bearshaft

  • aside from being grossly negligent, is there a statute that makes hunting under the influence illegal?
