NYT yesterday had a piece on this. I just skimmed it. My impression was the piece wasn't clear that the N-word was used, just an epithet, leaving room for the possible that some lesser expletive was used.
What's coming forth is what any white guy who drinks with Republicans already knows--many R's let slip Allen-like comments at the country club bar after a couple Chevas'. Is anybody really surprised that a Virginia republican is any different?
