ABC is reporting that Republican Congressman Mark Foley of Florida is resigning over sexually explicit messages to minors.

polygamy and pederasty are what the republicans are all about.

Well, I don't know that I'd go that far... my first reaction when hearing the news was "yup. Another 'family values' Republican in the closet." You know, they (and the country) would be a lot better off if they'd just come out and be done with it.

I see Foley is checking into an alcohol rehab clinic.

About 20 years ago, another right-wing gay-bashing congressman was caught hanging out in gay bars. Like Foley, he checked himself into rehab.

Apparently alcoholism turns respected straight people into irresponsible homosexuals.
